A long period of creativity, inspiration, and striving for knowledge, the Renaissance peaked in Italy as artists turned their attention to the classical world and made the human body the center of artistic representation. Renaissance art is interested in the naturalistic depiction of the human form and its emotional life; it seeks a balance between the spiritual and material.

Gingerbread Village

27th Annual Gingerbread Grand Seattle Since 1992, the Sheraton Grand Seattle supports the JDRF’s Greater Northwest Chapter by hosting the 27th annual Gingerbread Village celebration. Each year, local architects, chefs from the Sheraton Grand Seattle, and children collaborate to build elaborate gingerbread creations to raise funds in support of JDRF’s vision of a world without type 1 diabetes.

Mohai: Mont-Saint-Michel

MOHAI joins Microsoft and the Musée des Plans-Reliefs in Paris to present the very first North American exhibition of the historical model of 17th century Mont-Saint-Michel. Visitors are transported on a holographic tour of Mont-Saint-Michel thanks to the latest innovations of Microsoft's artificial intelligence and mixed reality platforms. Mont-Saint-Michel is a medieval monastery perched on an isolated tidal island off the Normandy coast of France.
