John Akomfrah: Future History is SAM’s first special exhibition exclusively dedicated to the medium of video art. The galleries will be transformed into theaters screening three works by the pioneering contemporary British filmmaker, John Akomfrah. They present a provocative vision of the past, present, and future, tackling issues such as climate change, slavery, colonialism, migration, and technology in a poetic visual language.
