It’s time! Have a check on your ski equipment, snow is almost there !
You do not want to invest on a new equipment or you actually dream of a new pair of skis? Have your children all grown up in the summer? To buy or complete your equipment you have different options.
There are many specialized shops for new equipment:
-In Seattle: REI, Ascent outdoors, Pro ski, Alpine Huts, Ski and snowboard Seattle, Play it Again Sports & Cycle, EVO
– In Bellevue: Ski Smart, Sturtevant’s
-Costco (seasonal sale on September / October)
You can also find second-hand stores, sales depots, where you will find clothing or equipment at the best prices.
-In Seattle: 2nd Base, Second Gear Sports
-In Issaquah: Superior Seconds Gear Exchange
-In Goodwill stores
-Craigslist, MarketPlace or the Nextdoor site are also good to check out.
One-time sales are also great ways to prepare your ski season and enjoy the mountain at a lower cost!
-Newport ski Swap (at Newport High School): new or used equipment sold by professionals or individuals. This sale finances the school’s funds and either offers you to buy equipments or either sell the material you no longer want. 33rd edition this year.
Newport High School Gymnasium (Bellevue, Factoria)
-Mercer ski: swap at Mercer International Middle School in November.
Another possible option: the rental season. The material is ready and new every year.
-In Issaquah: Gerk Ski and Cycle (new equipment also)
If you are a fan of ski touring, some shops to know:
-In Seattle: Second Ascent, EVO, Pro Ski and REI
Good to know: One day rentals situated within the ski areas are not always the best option since there aren’t any most of the time. Unless skiing is a very punctual experience, it is better to have his equipment.
