Take a cocktail shaker, pour in it a real orchestra with strings, woodwinds, percussions and brass; add singers and contemporary instruments such as electric guitars, synth and drums. Shake well and you will get the most amazing rock band!

The SRO was founded in 2008 by Scott Teske, double-bass player, composer and current artistic director. Scott is a graduated of the University of Washington School of Music and has worked for eight years as a double-bass specialist for the Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestra (SYSO), the largest youth orchestra training program in the United States.
He has contributed to several original compositions, performed by the Seattle Symphony in Benaroya Hall, and has collaborated with artists Mike McCready (Pearl Jam) or Michael A. McKagan (Guns’n’Roses).
“The Seattle Rock Orchestra doesn’t hide behind a rock band…it is the rock band”!

On stage the SRO musicians have been enthusiastically directed by Kim Roy since 2010. She is a violin specialist graduated from Central Washington University where she also earned, in 2009, her Masters in Orchestral Conducting.
Kim is the Music Director of the Seattle Rock Orchestra and the Snohomish County Music Project. She is the Associate Conductor for the Seattle Metropolitan Chamber Orchestra and is also an educator in several middle and high schools.
The SRO is composed of very talented artists, musicians and vocalists interpreting the best of rock and pop music greats such as The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, The Beach Boys, AC/DC, Pink Floyd, The Police, Michael Jackson, Madonna and David Bowie.
Their next performance featuring classics by The Beatles, originally scheduled at The Moore Theater for 1st of April 2020, has now been postponed to the 29th of August 2020.
